This drawing, illustrating the sacrament of
Holy Baptism, incorporates ancient Celtic and Irish motifs. The
Baptismal font and bottom border designs symbolize life-giving water
and the Holy Trinity. Lilies, a sign of innocence and purity, bloom
atop stylized stems. The priest wears a finely patterned Celtic stole
and the "Chi-Rho, " a traditional Greek symbol for Christ, graces his
vestments.
