Woven from extra fine merino wool at the Avoca Mill, this fully reversible scarf offers two distinctive styles one side showcasing the striking neon plaid and the other a refined solid navy-making it a versatile accessory for everything from casual winter wear to elegant evening layering. New for the Avoca AW26/27 season, Part of the Warp Collection from Avoca and Made at the historic Avoca Mill in Avoca, County Wicklow, Ireland, it combines luxurious comfort with standout style.
The Warp collection honors Ireland's rich textile history. It celebrates the historic Avoca Handweavers wool mill, which has been operating since 1723. The collection uses high-quality merino wool to create scarves that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern, bright designs. In weaving, the warp threads are held stationary and taut on a loom. These vertical threads run up and down to form the strong base of the fabric. The weft threads are then woven across them, moving side to side. This simple over-and-under interlacing creates all woven textiles.
